My oldest daughter’s school has an auction every year in November, and it sounded like a great opportunity to donate a service of either a sheet cake or cupcakes as a bid item.  Of course, I found myself without a logo or any spiffy branding, so I started creating my own.  With no software except the MS Suite for Mac.  Have I mentioned previously that I love a challenge?

I love stripes, and I always thought that “pound cake” was a very fitting name for my eventual bake shop since my initials are LB, which is the abbreviation for the metric pound measurement in the imperial.  Super tongue -in- cheek , but whatevs.  It fits, and I like it.  Here is what I came up with, which is unassisted and super novice.  Eventually I’ll have a friend that’s a graphic designer take a whack at it, but for now my pocketbook is relying on my own ingenuity 🙂  LMK what you think if you care to leave a comment, thanks!

I ended up making a gift certificate in Word and printing it on good cardstock.  I hope it goes over well!
